Intel will close a semiconductor plant in Oregon.

Depressed sales of computer chips is causing Intel Corp. to close one of its two Oregon plants and lay off about 450 employees. Planning has already started for a worldwide layoff in the first quarter of 1986, but Intel said it wasn’t certain how many might lose their jobs.
