Community College Basketball : Moses Scores 24 Points to Pace Rancho Santiago

Freshman Mark Moses scored 24 points to lead Rancho Santiago College to a 93-73 victory over Pomona-Pitzer’s JV team in the Dons’ season opener Wednesday night.
Brent Martin and Howard Cole both scored 20 points for Rancho Santiago and Eric Shurman added 19.
Rick Duque led the previously unbeaten Sagehens (5-1) with 20 points.
In other nonconference action:
Orange Coast 67, Mira Costa 64--Joe Seager scored 17 points and Fred Bickett added 12 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Pirates in their season opener. Jon Johnston also had 12 points to help the Pirates rally from an eight-point halftime deficit. Doc Phillips led Mira Costa (1-1) with 15 points.
Fullerton 102, Chaffey 85--Rocco Myers scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Hornets to an easy win. Bill Buda added 17 points and Phil Lewis scored 11 and had 10 rebounds for the Hornets (4-2). Ted Bruster led Chaffey with 15 points.
