What authorities called an “improvised explosive device” found on the steps of a Muslim school was defused by the Los Angeles Police Department’s bomb squad. Members of the Masjid Al Mamin Mosque, 1635 S. St. Andrews Place, found the device when they arrived for early morning worship services. Members of the bomb squad worked for more than two hours to dismantle the device and said investigators in the department’s Criminal Conspiracy Division will be asked to determine who placed the bomb.
