Taiwan’s Chen Tze-min fired a two-under-par 70 at Kagoshima, Japan, to take a one-stroke lead after the rain-interrupted opening round of the $400,000 World Open golf tournament.
His brother, Chen Tze-chung, and veteran Japanese pro Toru Nakamura shot 71s to share second place.
U.S. PGA champion Hubert Green scored a 72 and shared fourth place with Joey Sindelar and two Japanese, Nobumitsu Yuhara and Norio Suzuki.
