Fullerton Woman, 70, Dies in Crash

A 70-year-old woman was killed Monday morning when her car collided with another at Malvern and Stephens avenues in Fullerton.
Linda Simsons of Fullerton was turning from Stephens onto Malvern about 9:30 a.m. when her car was struck by a car driven westbound on Malvern by Kristine Swisshelm, 23, also of Fullerton.
The elderly woman was trapped in her vehicle, and Fullerton firefighters had to use the “jaws of life” to remove her. She died at Fullerton Community Hospital.
Swisshelm was injured slightly and taken to Martin Luther Hospital, where officials said late Monday that she was under observation. Police said no citations were issued.
