For the first time this season, there wasn’t a single change in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep basketball poll as every team remained in the place as last week’s poll.
Mater Dei, riding a 52-game winning streak, remained in the top position. The Monarchs are closing in on Compton’s all-time CIF Southern Section mark of 66 consecutive wins.
In the featured game of week, ninth-ranked Santa Ana will play host to 10th-ranked Foothill on Friday night for the Century League title. Tipoff is at 7:30.
The writers’ poll:
Pos. School (League) . . . Record 1. Mater Dei (Angelus) . . . 23-0
