SAN DIEGO — San Diego State will play six of its 11 football games at home in 1986, it was announced Wednesday.
The home schedule includes games against three 1985 bowl teams--UCLA, Air Force and Brigham Young. Other home games are against Cal State Long Beach, Wyoming and Hawaii.
SDSU will open its season at home against Long Beach on Sept. 6. The Aztecs’ first Western Athletic Conference game is at Utah on Sept. 13.
The opponents are the same as they were in 1985 aside from Oregon, which was dropped to trim the 12-game 1985 schedule to 11 games in 1986.
“Our schedule reads like the Who’s Who of Western football. But if we can beat some of those teams, people are going to notice,” Coach Denny Stolz said.
