NHL Roundup : Bossy Scores 3 in Islanders’ 7-1 Win

Mike Bossy scored three power-play goals and Pat LaFontaine scored twice as the New York Islanders trounced the Toronto Maple Leafs, 7-1, Thursday night at Toronto for their fifth victory in six games.
Bossy increased his goal total to 56, including 13 in his last 12 games.
He scored two goals in the second period as the Islanders scored three times to build a 4-1 lead. Denis Potvin added four assists for the Islanders.
Despite the loss, the Maple Leafs clinched a playoff berth as a result of Detroit’s 3-2 overtime loss to St. Louis.
Philadelphia 5, Pittsburgh 1--Tim Kerr scored two power-play goals to lead the Flyers to a victory at Philadelphia.
Kerr, adding to his NHL record for most power-play goals in a season, scored his 30th and 31st on the advantage and 49th and 50th overall.
St. Louis 3, Detroit 2--Defenseman Lee Norwood scored at 2:49 of overtime to push the Blues past the Red Wings at Detroit.
