Help-wanted advertising fell again in May.

It was the fifth consecutive monthly decline in help-wanted advertisements appearing in newspapers nationwide, the Conference Board reported. The business-supported research group said its monthly help-wanted advertising index, which measures the volume of classified advertising in 51 major newspapers, dropped four points in May to 128 from April’s 132. In May, 1985, the index stood at 132. Want-ad volume fell in seven of the nine regions of the country measured, the research group said.
