A consortium of insurance companies has agreed to provide professional liability insurance for 2,500 certified nurse-midwives, the American College of Nurse-Midwives announced. The group, which aids healthy, low-risk women, has sought an insurance carrier since members lost blanket malpractice coverage last July, when their policies were not renewed. CNA Insurance Cos. will coordinate and service the new policies, along with nine other companies.
