GARNER TO STAR IN HALLMARK DRAMA

James Garner will star in a special two-hour “Hallmark Hall of Fame” drama this season that will mark Hallmark’s 35th anniversary in television.
The project, titled “Promise,” casts Garner as a man who finds he unexpectedly must make good on a promise to his ailing mother that he will take care of his schizophrenic brother after she dies. James Woods is cast as the brother. Piper Laurie also stars.
In addition to starring, Garner also will be executive producer with Peter K. Duchow. “Promise” is a Warner Bros. Television production for CBS, in association with Garner-Duchow Productions and Hallmark. Glenn Jordan will direct and produce the film, which starts shooting later this month in Oregon.
