3 Murder Suspects Beaten to Death by Mob in Brazil

SAO PAULO, Brazil — Hundreds of Brazilians armed with hammers and clubs stormed a prison in the southern state of Parana and killed three alleged murderers, police reported.
A military police spokesman in the town of Umuarama told reporters by telephone Wednesday that about 3,000 people gathered outside the prison.
About 300 of them forced their way past 60 police guards and beat to death the three men accused of killing a local photographer and raping his girlfriend.
