Women’s NCAA Basketball Roundup : Iowa Edges Georgia in the Midwest

Shanda Berry hit a 12-foot jumper with 1:05 left Thursday night and ninth-ranked Iowa knocked off No. 6 Georgia, 62-60, in a Midwest Regional semifinal at Monroe, La.
Iowa (26-4), which has won 13 straight games, advances to Saturday’s regional championship against Louisiana Tech.
All-American Katrina McClain scored 23 points for Georgia (27-5).
Louisiana Tech 66, Southern Illinois 53--Tori Harrison scored 21 points and the No. 3 Lady Techsters won their 17th straight game by downing the No. 16 Lady Salukis in the other game at Monroe, La.
Tech (28-2) escaped a 31-31 halftime tie and handed the Lady Salukis (28-3) their first loss in 11 games.
Rutgers 75, North Carolina State 60--Sue Wicks had 33 points and 13 rebounds to lead the fifth-ranked Lady Knights past the No. 13 Wolfpack in the East Regional at Fayetteville, N.C.
The Lady Knights (30-2) plays top-ranked Texas (30-1) Saturday in the Regional final. Texas 91, James Madison 57--Clarissa Davis had 26 points and 10 rebounds as the top-ranked Longhorns rolled past the No. 12 Dukes in the other game at Fayetteville, N.C.
Andrea Lloyd added 20 points for the Longhorns (30-1), who won their 24th straight game.
Tennessee 66, Virginia 58--Bridgette Gordon came off the bench to score 21 points and lead the seventh-ranked Lady Volunteers past the No. 11 Lady Cavaliers in the Mideast Regional at Knoxville, Tenn.
The Lady Volunteers (25-6) will meet Auburn Saturday in the Mideast final.
Auburn 77, Old Dominion 61--Diann McNeil scored 18 points and Mae Ola Bolton had 17 as the second-ranked Lady Tigers overcame a three-point halftime deficit to down the Lady Monarchs in the other game at Knoxville.
