WASHINGTON — The Marine Corps today announced the arrest of Sgt. Kenneth J. Kelliher, a security guard at the U.S. Embassy in Bern, Switzerland, on charges of copying classified documents there and sending them to a private residence in Illinois.
Kelliher, 32, who was formerly a security guard at the embassy in Moscow, is not charged with espionage. But he is charged with allowing a Swiss woman to enter secure areas of the Bern facility, with failing to report contacts with Soviet women in Moscow, with black marketing activities and other alleged illegal activities.
