True to the promise he made a few weeks ago, Phil Donahue moved the taping of his syndicated talk show Tuesday from New York to Stamford, Conn., to avoid crossing picket lines set up outside the NBC television studio. Donahue waxed sympathetic at a press conference announcing the move: “I have a real partnership with NABET members who have thrown themselves on the sword for the ‘Donahue’ show for many years,” he said. “We’ve made extraordinary demands on the people of this union and in every case they have delivered the audio and the picture. I support their effort to insure their job security.”
