In Praise of Lester

At least some residents of San Diego County are grateful for the courageous action of Judge Lester in choosing to publicly criticize the San Diego Police Department’s officers for their handling of Sagon Penn and, subsequently, in their actions on the witness stand. Our gratitude must also be expressed to those jurors who also had the courage to speak out against the police, despite their fear of reprisals.
If the American public is in desperate need of a hero, then I submit the name of Judge J. Morgan Lester.
