Small Palm Springs Quake

A small earthquake registering 3.4 on the Richter scale was felt in the Palm Springs area at 9:24 p.m. Wednesday, but there were no reports of damage or injuries.
A spokesman for the Caltech Seismological Laboratory, Robert Finn, said the tremor was an aftershock of the July, 1986, Palm Springs earthquake, which measured 5.9 on the Richter scale. The aftershock was centered 13 miles northwest of Palm Springs.
