Forward Bernard King, former National Basketball Assn. All-Star, will not return to the New York Knicks, the team said, and his $874,0000 salary allocation will be used in the team’s effort to acquire Sidney Green from the Detroit Pistons, the New York Daily News reported.
Green, a 6-9 forward, has reportedly been offered $2.2 million over the next three years.
King, who has a career scoring average of 23.5 points a game, sat out almost all of last season and has been troubled for most of his career by a knee injury.
