GM Hughes Electronics’ income was up 4% to $171 million for the third quarter. The Detroit company said the gain was achieved despite a 1% decline in revenue, which was attributable to a 6% drop in sales at Delco Electronics Corp. It said the earnings increase resulted in part from improvement in profitability at Hughes Aircraft’s missile systems group.
