A Montrose man was accidentally shot and killed at a shooting area in the Angeles National Forest about 20 miles north of La Canada Flintridge, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said Monday.
James Alan Washiko, 30, was shot in the back Sunday morning as he loaded guns into the trunk of his car at the Middle Shooting Area along the Angeles Forest Highway, Deputy Van Mosely said.
From 20 to 30 people were in the area, where target shooting is legal, Mosely said, and investigators have not been able to determine who fired the bullet.
