La Habra Loses Toss, Misses Out on Playoff Berth

Fullerton and Troy high schools won a three-way coin flip with La Habra late Friday night to take the Freeway League’s second- and third-place berths in the Central Conference football playoffs.
Fullerton, Troy and La Habra tied for second place with 3-2 league records. La Habra had to forfeit two league victories (four overall) because of an ineligible player.
Sunny Hills (4-1) was the league champion.
In another coin flip Friday night, Saddleback won to become the Sea View League’s No. 2 representative to the Central Conference playoffs. Tustin will go as the league’s third-place team.
Saddleback and Tustin each had league records of 3-1-1 and played to a 24-24 tie on Oct. 30. Corona del Mar won the league championship with a 4-1 record.
