American Cytogenetics Reports 3rd-Quarter Loss

American Cytogenetics lost $30,317, or 2 cents a share, in the third quarter ended Oct. 31, compared to a loss of $30,755, or 2 cents a share, a year earlier.
The loss for the North Hollywood company, which operates laboratories that mostly process Pap smear tests for doctors, came on a 3% decline in revenue to $1.3 million.
For the nine months, the company lost $31,378, or 2 cents a share, compared to a profit of $16,584, or 1 cent a share, a year earlier. Revenue fell 3% in the period to $3.7 million.
