THE PREPS : Youngs Due Back Saturday

Elaine Youngs of El Toro High School, one of Orange County’s best players, is expected to return to action Saturday in the first round of the Marina-Edison girls’ basketball tournament.

Youngs, who leads the Chargers in scoring and rebounding, suffered a sprained ankle Saturday against Marina in the Savanna tournament championship game.

“They told me when I went in for therapy today that I could play Saturday,” said Youngs, who was an all-Southern Section selection last season. “That was a lot sooner than I expected.”
