Sony Gets Green Light to Buy CBS Records

TOKYO — Sony Corp. said today it has received approval from both the U.S. and Japanese governments for its purchase of the CBS Records Group, the world’s largest record company.
Japan’s leading electronics and audio-visual equipment manufacturer announced in November it had reached agreement with CBS Inc. to purchase its records group for $2 billion.
