Chicago police said that they have broken up a multimillion-dollar computerized sports gambling operation that was being run out of a luxury apartment complex.
Police Detective James J. Carroll, who conducted the raid Sunday, estimated that the operation took in about $500,000 a weekend during the pro football season, based on the mound of betting slips found.
Charged with the felony syndicated gambling, as well as misdemeanor counts, were LaMont Howard and Roberta Green, each 38.
