Baker Hughes Sues Importer Over Drill Bits

HOUSTON — Baker Hughes Inc. has filed a lawsuit against a Houston-based importer to stop the sale of Chinese drill bits made with the company’s own technology.
Court officials said Wednesday that U.S. District Judge James DeAnda issued an order last week barring KLR Industries, which is headed by a former Hughes Tool Co. executive, from marketing the disputed drill bits until the case is settled.
Baker Hughes, which was created in 1987 when Baker International and Hughes Tool merged.
