A coach from the Romanian Olympic team met with Canadian immigration officers at a secret location after appealing for asylum in Calgary, according to an Immigration Dept. spokesman.
The coach was not identified publicly but Olympic sources named him as Dumitru Focseneanu, the bobsled coach whose team had 27th- and 30th-place finishes at the Winter Games.
