A Val Verde motorcyclist was killed when he slammed into a barbed wire fence, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday.
The cyclist, James Cooper Jr., 48, was not wearing a helmet at the time.
The crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. Saturday in a remote area of the Santa Clarita Valley, northwest of Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park, said CHP Officer Margaret Sowers.
Cooper was driving at high speed north on Chiquito Canyon Road north of California 126 in Val Verde when he rounded a curve and lost control of the motorcycle, Sowers said.
