Let Women Umpires Decide for Themselves

Gee, I really do appreciate Roger Craig’s concern (Aug. 27) when he states that women shouldn’t be umpires because they would be called ugly names. But that’s like telling women they shouldn’t be doctors because they’d have to see blood!

Give me a break. Let’s encourage girls and women (in fact, everyone) to be and do whatever they want, but most of all, to decide for themselves.
