Arthur Dalfen, a Bermuda investor, raised his stake in Verit Industries from 5.5% to 7.2% of the Sun Valley company’s stock.
In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Dalfen said he bought 12,900 additional Verit shares between Nov. 9 and March 27 at prices ranging from $4.50 to $6 a share. Dalfen, who now owns a total of 55,000 Verit shares, has said he is buying the stock for investment purposes.
Verit has been a manufacturer of stereo loudspeakers and a distributor of other electronic products. But in February, Verit announced plans to abandon those operations and to search for acquisitions “that may have greater potential for profit.”
