A 26-year-old man believed to be a Los Angeles gang member has been arrested on suspicion of killing a Rancho Penasquitos man last week in East San Diego, police said.
San Diego police homicide detectives arrested Tommy Ray Brown on Thursday night in East San Diego in connection with the Aug. 13 killing of Donald Maurice Johnson, said police spokesman Bill Robinson.
Johnson, 32, was found slumped against the steering wheel of his car in the 3500 block of 43rd Street. He had been shot once in the head.
A witness to the shooting identified a man fitting Brown’s description as the assailant, Robinson said.
The motive for the shooting was unknown.
