WORLD IN BRIEF : LIBYA : PLO Denies Reports Abu Nidal Is Dying

Palestinian terrorist Abu Nidal is under medical supervision at his home in Libya after the recurrence of a heart ailment, but his life is in no immediate danger, two senior PLO officials said. The officials, interviewed separately from Palestine Liberation Organization headquarters in Tunisia, labeled as “inaccurate” reports from Algeria that Abu Nidal, 52, is dying of cancer. They also denied reports he is under house arrest.
