PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP : Martin Scores Three Goals as Edison Romps

Jeanine Martin scored three goals to lead Edison High School to a 4-0 victory over Mira Costa in the consolation championship of the South Torrance girls’ soccer tournament Friday at South Torrance.
Alysson Gibbs and Martin scored in the first half, and Martin added two goals in the second half. Nikki Turner had nine saves for Edison (5-2-4).
In the South Torrance boys’ soccer tournament:
Marina 3, Santa Monica 0--Fred McCollum, Bijan Chavoshan and Mike Gambino scored to lead Marina (6-3-0) in the consolation final. Goalie Larry Nye had 10 saves for Marina.
In nonleague boys’ soccer:
Fountain Valley 2, Villa Park 1--P.J. Polowski scored with about two minutes left in the second half to break a 1-1 tie for host Fountain Valley (9-0-1). Joe Killy scored Fountain Valley’s other goal. Eric Hansen scored for Villa Park (5-2-2). Joe Penaflor had eight saves for Fountain Valley.
