The Laguna Folkdancers, a community social dancing club, will hold the 20th annual Laguna Folkdance Festival from Friday to Sunday at the Laguna Beach High School gymnasium on Park Avenue.
“We’ll probably have hundreds of people to watch and dance on Sunday alone,” said board member Lil Carlson. “We do this for people who love folk dancing.”
The festivities begin Friday at 7:30 p.m. with general folk dances. On Saturday, master folk dance teachers will give advanced workshops in Bulgarian/French Canadian and Thracian/Macedonian dancing, to be followed by a Valentine Dance Party and other activities. Admission for weekend activities ranges from $3 to $6 depending on the event.
“We would do this even if we didn’t make any money,” Carlson said. For more information, call (714) 894-8842 or (714) 494-3302.
