The Manhattan Beach Recreation Department will hold training sessions for volunteers interested in conducting nature study tours of the Polliwog Park pond, which was recently refurbished as a habitat for migratory water fowl. Sessions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on four consecutive Wednesdays, starting next week, at Manhattan Heights Community Center, 1600 Manhattan Beach Blvd.
Tour guides will learn how to identify migratory birds and their eggs, other types of wildlife, and various plants and trees. The first free public nature study tour at Polliwog will be April 7 at 10 a.m. Volunteers may call 545-5621, Ext. 330, for further information.
