LOCAL : Stanton Burglary Suspect Shot

A suspected burglar was in critical condition today with a bullet wound to his stomach after being shot by the resident of a Stanton mobile home, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies found Hubert Kizer, 24, of Costa Mesa, lying on the floor of a mobile home in the 8000 block of Acacia Avenue on Wednesday after he allegedly tried to rob the homeowner, Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Lt. Dick Olson said.
The homeowner apparently had warned the suspect to leave, then shot him, Olson said. After the shooting, the homeowner fled and called for help, he said.
No charges are expected against the homeowner, whom authorities declined to name, Olson said.
