Art supplies for learning-disabled students and a season subscription to the theater are among eight items that will be financed by the Culver City Education Foundation.
The foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for the schools, this month announced the grants, totaling $5,000.
Teachers at Culver City High School were given money to send students to plays at the L.A. Theater Center and to teach students of French about French painters and buy French news cassettes. Three elementary teachers will receive money for hands-on science experiments for bilingual students, and one fifth-grade class will join a dozen other schools in the nation and Canada in a study of acid rain.
