Ropak Corp.: The Fullerton maker of plastic packaging and handling products said that 1989 net income dropped to $807,000 from $2.9 million a year ago, despite a 6% gain in revenue. The company blamed the decrease on intense competition, a rise in costs and unused production capacity that resulted from the company’s expansion. Revenue for the year rose to $94.4 million from $88.8 million. For the fourth quarter, Ropak lost $97,000; it reported a net income of $493,000 for the period in 1988. Revenue declined 5%, to $20.5 million from $21.6 million.
