STATE : Ridgecrest to Lose Navy Facility

The Navy will move its primary electronics research and technology center from Ridgecrest, Calif., to Indianapolis, Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.) said today.
The Electronics Manufacturing Productivity Facility, with up to 100 scientists and support personnel, will be relocated by the end of September, Coats said.
The California site is too remote to allow easy access to the many businesses wanting to visit, Coats said.
Navy Secretary H. Lawrence Garrett III signed a letter today formally relocating the center.
