NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Singer Janis Ian and humorist Minnie Pearl will be honorary co-chairwomen of the 1990 AIDS walk.
Ian will walk during the April 21 fund-raising event, spokesman Scott Stem said Friday. Minnie Pearl will attend the opening but will not walk because of her heart condition.
Minnie Pearl has performed on the Grand Ole Opry since 1940.
Ian’s hit records include “When the Party’s Over” and “At Seventeen.”
