Christopherson’s Home Run Powers SDSU Over Reno

San Diego State’s baseball team came from behind on Eric Christopherson’s two-run home run with one out in the seventh to score a 4-3 victory over Nevada Reno in a nonconference game Thursday night in Reno.
Christopherson went two for four as did teammate Jeff Barry, who also came through with an RBI double.
SDSU improved to 29-13 and Nevada Reno fell to 18-18.
UC San Diego edged host Christ College, 3-2, as starter Dann Eaton struck out eight batters in five innings.
With the score tied, 2-2, UCSD’s Louie Diaz led off the seventh with a single and scored the winning run on a single by J.J. Fisher.
UCSD (16-10-2), ranked 11th in Division III, has won nine of 11. Christ College fell to 15-16.
Point Loma Nazarene College split a doubleheader with Pacific Lutheran, losing the first game 2-1 and winning the second 5-2.
John Fritz put PLNC (14-21-1) on top for good in the second game with a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Teammate Trent Theel went three for three and drove in two runs.
Pacific Lutheran moved to 13-12.
