Shedding No Tears for Junk Mail’s Demise

So “Junk Mail Firms Fear Postage Hike Will Ruin Business” (March 30). Wonderful! Forget the proposed 30-cent letter rate; I’d willingly pay 50 cents if it would guarantee the elimination of junk mail.
Don’t tell me that I can get my name taken off mailing lists. I tried that and now I still get the junk, the only difference being that it is no longer accompanied by the post card (with the hopelessly blurred black-on-black photo of some missing child) that used to blow around my front yard after each delivery.
