A 30-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine walked into St. Joseph’s Cathedral on Monday and fatally wounded himself with a shotgun.
The Marine, whose name was not released, shot himself at 9:17 a.m. in front of the cathedral altar on the 1500 block of 3rd Street, Deputy Coroner Robert Engel said.
