Circle K Corp. has appointed as its new chairman a Cincinnati attorney who is a partner with the law firm representing the company’s largest shareholder. Phoenix-based Circle K, the nation’s second-largest convenience-store chain, named Bart A. Brown Jr., a senior partner in the law firm Keating, Muething & Klekamp, to replace Karl Eller. Keating, Muething & Klekamp represents American Financial Corp., Circle K’s largest shareholder. The post of chief executive remains vacant. Circle K filed for Chapter 11 protection on May 15, listing more than $1 billion in debt.
