NEWPORT BEACH — The Newport Beach Dukes try for their first victory when they host the Miami Beach Breakers in a Team Tennis match at 7:30 tonight at the John Wayne Tennis Club.
The Dukes lost their opener, 27-23, to the Raleigh Edge Thursday. Miami Beach was leading Charlotte, 24-14, when the match was suspended due to rain Thursday in Miami.
No current Team Tennis player has played more seasons than Miami Beach’s Sandy Collins, an eight-year veteran of the league.
Collins, who mostly plays doubles on the pro tour, is joined on the Breakers by Cammy MacGregor, Richard Schmidt and Greg Van Emburgh.
