Liquid Hydrogen Prompts Suit: Evergreen Oil, a Los Angeles oil recycler, sued Air Products & Chemicals Inc. of Allentown, Pa., on grounds that it misrepresented the efficiency of a liquid hydrogen supply system that it offered for lease. The Los Angeles Superior Court suit alleges that Evergreen agreed to lease the system for $5,560 a month and purchase hydrogen supplies for it after being assured that the system would lose less than 5% of its liquid hydrogen. It actually lost 40%, requiring Evergreen to buy more. The suit seeks $500,000 in general damages and unstated punitive damages. (Filed Aug. 8, 1990. Case No. BC007724)
