BUTLER: A voice-activated, computerized home security device manufactured by a Los Alamitos company is one of the stars of Security Expo, a New York trade show. Created by Mastervoice, the “Butler in a Box” permits homeowners to control 32 systems and appliances and will set off an alarm if it doesn’t recognize the voice giving it instructions. Cost: $5,000.
