Laker Rookie Smith Goes Back to L.A.

HONOLULU — Laker rookie Tony Smith flew home Sunday, where he will undergo tests for an irregular heartbeat.
The Lakers continued practicing twice a day.
Coach Mike Dunleavy was asked about the new rule against hard fouling. “The (Charles) Barkley rule?” he said, laughing. “We’re not going to coach it, so it won’t be a problem. Detroit might have a problem, though.”
