DENVER — Denver Broncos rookie Blake Ezor is scheduled to appear in a Michigan court next week to answer to charges of retail fraud for trying to buy a compact disc player with the wrong price tag.
Ezor, who in his NFL debut Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts ran for 82 yards, has a court date Monday in Ingham County, Mich. Retail fraud is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 93 days in jail and a $100 fine.
The running back from Michigan State University is suspected of changing price tags on a CD player June 6 at a Meijers outlet store near East Lansing, said Kim Eddie, Ingham County chief assistant district attorney.
“The CD player sold for $179.97, but the price tag read $79.97,” Eddie said. “Ezor picked that up, and attempted to purchase it at that price.”
