La Verne : Development Pact OKd

The City Council voted 3 to 2 Monday to approve a development agreement with Lewis Homes of California, virtually assuring the company permission to build its 186-home project in north La Verne.
Steve Preston, community development director, said all remaining city approvals are routine.
Councilman Craig H. Walters and Mayor Pro Tem Thomas R. Harvey voted in opposition. Both said the planned houses would be larger than allowed under the city’s general plan.
